Launched on April
20th 1895 by J and G Thomson at Clydebank
Engines : 2 cylinder compound diagonal. 27.5 and 58 in x 54 in
Dimensions : 225.6 ft x 26.1 ft
338 Gross Registered Tonnes
Built for CSP’s Rothesay
service from both Gourock and Wemyss Bay
Later transferred to a cruising role with additional railway
connections from Gourock
Reboilered in 1914
Served as a minesweeper at the south of England during World War
I
Returned to the Clyde but sank at her moorings on 1st June 1919 at
Glasgow
Raised and returned to service in 1920 and generally on the Rothesay
/ Kyles service.
Requisitioned for World War II service on the Clyde, Dover,
Portsmouth and Harwich
Attended the Dunkirk evacuation in 1940
Beached at Brightlingsea in October 1945 and sold in 1946 to Dutch
breakers.
