Ordered by the New Medway Steam Packet Co, but put into service by the GSN who had in the meantime bought the New Medway company
Operated excursions from the Thames Estuary resorts including trips to French and Belgian ports
On the outbreak of war in August 1939, she undertook evacuation of civilian population from London and acte as a cross-channel trooper
Crossed to Dunkirk to assist in the evacuations at the end of May 1940, making her last departure from the French port early on June 3rd
Lost after being mined on the Bristol Channel on December 9th, 1940
