Stadt Wien and her 1940 sister Stadt Passau were the mainstay of overnight cruises along the Danube from Vienna in Austria to Passau in Germany until their owners the DDSG (Erste Donau Dampfschiffahrts-Gesellschaft) went out of business in 1995. Stadt Wien was bought by the Mayor of Tulln and underwent considerable internal refurbishment for service as a restaurant, also providing overnight accommodation at Tulln with cruising on summer Saturdays, offering a full day trip from Tulln to Aggstein and return through the Wachau Valley.
For 2009 it was announced that Stadt Wien would no longer operate scheduled servoces from Tulln into the Wachau valley,but three cruises were advertised for June and other dates in June offered as available for private charters

650 Displacement tonnes
Fitted with 24 cabins for overnight accommodation for River Danube cruises from Vienna to Passau

Built for DDSG - Erste Donau Dampfschiffahrts Gesellschaft
Remained on the long cruises primarily from Vienna to Passau until 1995 except for a short time in the late 1980s
Sold to Mr Willi Stift, Burgermeister of Tulln  for use as a restaurant and hotel but providing cruises along the Danube's magnificent Wachau valley on Summer Saturdays.
