The South Wales Talking Magazine Association was founded in 1971 by the late
Jack Treeby. Jack, who was visually impaired, realised that news and information
recorded onto tape would greatly help the blind and partially sighted keep in touch
with events in their local area.
The SWTMA for the Blind was one of the first organisations formed in the UK to
provide this type of service.
