| The man of this one |
|
Edward L. was an important man, an internationally recognised public speaker who for many years concealed his illness behind a shield of jokes and a flair for turning the uncontrolled phrase to his advantage. The recordings that form part of "The Man of this One" were made several years after his withdrawal from public life.
Composed and played by Tommaso Del Signore
| I Jumped in the River |

A fragment from 'Dust on the Rubber Tree" the unpublished biography of Sheila V.H. Sheila tells the story of a drunken night in Chelsea culminating in a misjudged suicide attempt.
Composed and played by Tommaso Del Signore.
Maggie May
A sea shanty of unknown origin remembered and sung complete for the last time by a sailor from one of the British ships which sank the Bismarck.
Played by Kevin Potton
Winnie Lawrence
This track is an extension of the same mark making process as Winnie's drawings, which feature throughout the projects magazine. Each drawing began with an abortive signature, emphasised by obsessive tapping on each of the letters in turn. Within the loop she would transfer identical patterns to any instrument at hand (a bell, a table, an electric guitar).
Played by Winnie Lawrence and arranged by Tommaso Del Signore
Two works stem from the same series of meetings with a deeply religious former orchestral violinist.

Composed by Duncan McCleod & played by Ian van den Berk and Maartje Kraan
Protection
The relationship between her musical puritanism and religious faith is developed in the second piece in which she repeats the words of God, recalled from a childhood dream, as both a prayer and a protection.
