North Cornwall
The Camel group of the Rambler's Association covers the beautiful Camel estuary, rugged moorlands, hidden valleys and attractive villages. From breathtaking views along the coastal fringes to the atmospheric Cornish rainforest North Cornwall has it all.
Membership of a local walking group gives you the opportunity to join like-minded people to enjoy regular walks and social events. The walks in our programme are graded according to difficulty making it easy for you to improve your fitness. Walks leave promptly at the stated time so allow time to boot up and get ready. There are two or three walks a month organised by the Camel Group and they are open to all members of the Ramblers UK. The walks take routes off the beaten track and visits places it would be difficult to find alone.
Britain's unique network of public paths are all too often blocked, obstructed, or overgrown. The Ramblers Association works with local authorities to make them a pleasure to walk on. We strive to ensure that any development in the countryside is undertaken with informed sensitivity.
Join us on a walk before you join The Ramblers to appreciate what a friendly group we are. We look forward to meeting you soon.
Best wishes
David Mackenzie
Group Secretary
It was with tremendous sadness that we heard that Jenny Ridgeley had died on the 22nd June at Mount Edgecombe Hospice. Jenny had been leading walks and active on our committee only a year before she was taken from us. Many from the committee attended the packed funeral service at the Glynn Valley Crematorium.to pay their respects and say goodbye. The undertakers were astonished to see such a large gathering, and many stood outside, but those that knew Jenny were not surprised. We all miss her dreadfully.

There is a wobbly bridge over the Lynher near North Hill. It has now gone a wobble too far and has been closed as too dangerous. It is on North Hill Footpath 9. The map reference is SX270 765
