PATH PROBLEMS
PATH PROBLEMS
Obstructed, overgrown, ploughed, cropped, flooded, no signs?
Report problems in writing, giving details, take a photo if possible, keep a
copy.
Describe the problem and give the grid reference of the location. See an
Ordnance Survey map on how to find a grid reference.
Give the parish name and path number, if known, e.g. St Kew footpath 4. Check
the definitive map held by the parish clerk or at County Hall. Place or road names and grid references at start and finish
of the path would be helpful. Give your name and address. And send your report to:
Mike Eastwood,
Programmes Manager,
Environment Service,
Cornwall Council,
St Clements Building,
Old County Hall,
TRURO
TR1 3AY
Please send a copy to your Group Rights
of Way Officer.
Alternately e-mail to:
E-mail:
hbratley@cornwall.gov.uk
or
E-mail:
meastwood@cornwall.gov.uk
You should receive an acknowledgement by card, letter, or Email. As before, send
a copy of your Email to your Group Rights of Way Officer.
If you have not received a reasonable response after a period of three months, take advice from your RoW Officer, who may advise you to approach a County Councillor, preferable the Councillor for the Ward where the problem lays, also the Parish Council. Inform the local paper that the paths are being neglected and describe the problem. Inform Radio Cornwall or Pirate FM.
If you have any information regarding obstructions or other difficulties in walking the footpaths in Cornwall
contact the Cornwall area footpath secretary.
