Christmas Party
A well attended evening (55) where everyone seemed to be in a party mood. The club looked after us well and President Mike Robbins provided a gift of wine for each table.
Fr. McGuinness from the Salesion College was our main guest and said grace. We also had a musical interlude after dinner when Peter McAlinden (a teacher from the Salesian College) entertained us very skilfully on the penny-whistle. President Mike welcomed the ladies and guests and regaled us with one of his cricketing jokes. there were also two people there whose birthday it was on the 3rd December. One was our own Margaret Malloy and the other was Fr. McGuinness. Margaret managed to win two prizes in the raffle and Fr. McGuinness one!
As usual we had a raffle set up by Pat Quigley and run by Chris
Smith, with some excellent prizes most of which were contributed by Circle members. A total of £278 was raised
for the President's Charity.
All-in-all an excellent evening thanks to our president, those running and contributing to the raffle and those helping in the organisation.
