A finely tuned duo, honing in on the drive and resonance of Celtic String music. The Band dig deeply into the forms from the celtic traditions of Ireland, Scotland, Shetland, Bretagne, Nova Scotia, New England, and Galicia. This is a chance to hear some music that CSB share and enjoy :: reels, jigs, hornpipes, O'Carolan Planxty's, slow airs, mazurkas, polkas, strathspeys, waltzes and many others.

BARN DANCES
Celtic String Band can play for many types of events including Barn Dances with Caller :Vivienne Hamblin. Special arrangements of "First Dances" can be made for Weddings with Country Dances

Adrian Underhill :: Guitar
An incisive guitarist who refined his instrumental work in its role with folk, jazz, improvisation, poetry and story telling. He played in folk music bands in London in the 70's. Joined the Dave Holt Swingtet in Hastings, then formed his own jazz band "Eddie Ferret" with bassist Roger Carey. Formed Jazz Duo with sax player Pete Burden in 80's.
Since then he has played Celtic and world music in Hastings, London and many places abroad. He played for ten years with the Stag Band and in other line-ups, and has now formed "The Celtic String Band" with Hastings fiddle player Chris Hamblin.

Chris Hamblin :: Fiddle, Mandolin, Guitar & Bodhran
A fiddle player with a driving celtic style. Featured as a soloist in Celtic Music Festivals throughout Italy, touring Switzerland, Spain with Gruppo Folkloriquo Whisky Trail, see CD Miriana recorded '79 ( track 9 Dargai ) appeared as part of an art installation in Milan & Zurich.
Chris has created many scores and live performances for contemporary dance and in 1989 was a founder member of the Elastic Band, a band praised in the Harare International Festival of the Arts 2000 for their "devastating violin music!!". He now lives in St Leonards-on-Sea and is building a thriving music teaching practice there.
