HARRY POTTER DAY
July 16th 05

Upon this day there was much rejoicing throughout the land: Kate and I spent spent the night in preperation - making these-here wonderful and not to mention snazzy hats and baking manly food, like cake.

Then like the brave adventurers we are, we donned them hats and hitched a lift into town with my ma-der-ah. Actually I lie, we had to remove them briefly or we couldn't have got into the car and also...they weren't very aerodynamic, och well, were we perturbed? NO!

Hehehe, as we had guessed the-night-before-the-day-after, Hastings children were not to be seen frolicking merrily through the shelves or thronging through the specially errected queue posts, so we had no trouble getting copys.

Bless the staff though as they had made an effort with their costumes and they seemed relieved to see book buyers. Then in the great tradition of Hastings visits, we sought to pay homage to outrageous hats and disquieting earrings at Accessorise and Claire's respectively, and so.....proceeded to do so......

There was a moment of truth in WHSmiths, where we found a bard weeping soulfully over a lyre, and indeed I am a liar, but we DID find a face painter who gladly agreed ( shortly after we crossed her palm with silver) to practice her aincient and mystical art upon us (sorry I lie again, we didn't pay her, I just wanted to say "crossed her palm with silver", it's really fun, take it home and try it for yourself!)

ooo mannn i really should stear clear of colour foto booths, they just bring colour imbalence into the world..... och well.....

Please make it all go away!
