Photo Notes :
In January we had a visit from Marianna from Cuiaba in central Brazil and during the year many students from Europe especially East Germany. Aya & Claudia were from Cote D'ivoire. Lastly Maria from Guatemala (no photo)
Pointy hats were by Miri for a textile project & with Kate Rundell to celebrate Harry Potter Day in July.
In April we all went to visit Viv's sister Maggie in Jo'burg and took Wendy to the Durban Coast for 4 days (no photos). She came to stay with us in July and August (photo by Di Mitchell).
In August we had a brilliant trip to Bordeaux to see all the Jacksons, stayed on the Atlantic coast near Royan, floated down the Dordogne for 3 days and had another amazing stay with the Renaudins in Culan on the way back.
Full size self portrait by Stephen, who has been bouncing off the wall exploring the art of Par Kour (free running) inspired by the Dvd :: Run Britain http://www.urbanfreeflow.com/
Enid (Chris's Mum) had a big family gathering in Stanmore for her 80th in September, Nicholas and I were pleased to see Joan with Magda, Maureen with Anita & Andy and Mum's dancing partner Gerry with his two daughters Jeannie & Claire + Leo.
Chris had a lot of success with his string groups at the Hastings Music Festival in March and continues to put in lots of time to aquire enough skill on guitar to tackle Flamenco. He has just found a teacher to study with in Brighton once a week.
Miri turned 18 in December and was happy to pass grade 5 Pedal Harp with a merit. She has been studying very hard this year and also got an award for most promising young harpist in Beckenham Festival in November. She is now looking at offers from Universities and trying to make her mind up about following her talents in Art, Drama and or English. She spent 2 weeks in August at the National Youth Theatre summer school living in residence at Laban Centre Deptford (our old stomping ground near Goldsmith's College, New Cross).
Tom continues to be the best at playing any computer game loaded into the Xbox and has done some very inpired Art projects this year including something in a show called Utopia about to open at the newly refurbished De La Warr in Bexhill http://www.dlwp.com/ (no photos).
Viv has been busy reading most of Hastings Library, teaching courses and marking GCSE Dance papers.
