This Luxury car, described by some as the ultimate drivers car, is a very rare site on British roads. The third generation RX7 was launched in the United Kingdom in 1992 and ceased to be imported from Japan in 1996. This coincided with the launch of the series VII model, which would not have passed emmissions or noise tests, for mass import to the United Kingdom, without modification. The latest model, the series VIII (shown above), was launched in 1999 and is the only car in the world produced with a Rotary engine. The twin Rotor, twin turbo unit produces 276bhp and with a 0-60mph time of under 5seconds, a top speed of 165mph and stunning handling, the RX7 is able to keep pace with most Ferraris on British roads. With it’s beautiful lines this car attracts adoration, rather than the unsavoury response other performance cars provoke. |
