Character Profile - Lt Cassini

Who is he?
The head of the Transport Division's undercover surveillance squad. There is doubt in the air over his future in the Service when we first meet him in Holborn, however it quickly transpires that his new boss The Commander more than approves of his methods and he soon becomes an essential member of the team.
Oddly, he actually failed to appear in Westminster, I'll assume he was either deep undercover or on holiday! However he soon returned and I have expanded his character just a little although I have tried to keep some of the mystery about him in place.
Originally he was not supposed to appear in Epping either but I relented and he makes a very brief cameo appearance on a train at Leytonstone as well as suddenly popping up late in the evening in the New Scotland Yard staff canteen in Marylebone.
Characterisations:
Cassini not only seems to have no first name (adds to his undercover nature) but also is the only character in the series who is identified as being of a particular racial group (black in his case and in a positive light I might add).
Inspired by:
A very dedicated and knowledgeable fellow I met many, many years ago. What happened to him I will never know!
Known Associates:
The nature of his clandestine job as an undercover officer means we see very little of his background or his associates with the possible exception of one of his team sometimes referred to as 'Iggy' about whom we know even less!
