Character Profile - Jack Thornton

Who is he?
A new regular character for the series, Jack is a wise wheeler dealing twelve year old lad who lost his parents and now lives off his own wits in as yet unspecified circumstances
When we first meet him, he is in hospital and is running a rather profitable racket in chocolate and other luxuries when he runs into the Commander and Sir Richard Crowthorne.
Characterisations:
There are similarities in Jack's nature when we first meet him to the Commander's younger incarnation as Eddie Regent in 'Lewisham'. They both being well qualified graduates from the proverbial 'University of Life'
Inspired by:
A rather clever lad I knew once who even in his youngest years could easily sell ice to Eskimos and then get a tax rebate afterwards!!
Known Associates:
At the end of 'Liverpool Street' Tracy and the Commander decide to adopt the orphaned lad as their own son. Aside from them, Jack appears to only have one other confirmed contact in the form of his would be girlfriend Megan about whom we hear more of later from Marylebone onwards.
