The Aldwych, a crescent shaped section of road that links the Strand and Kingsway. It is also is home to a closed Underground Station and the headquarters of the BBC World Service! |

The closed station at Aldwych (Formerly Strand Station) on the
short Piccadilly Line branch from Holborn features in the series on a couple of occasions.
Although closed since 1994, it is still used for filming purposes and can be easily
found thanks to its two seperate blood red tiles entrance frontages. Left is the small entrance/exit in The Strand whilst right is the larger facial that is in the adjacent Surrey Street and a short walk from Temple Station (Circle & District Line). |

The parallel roads of Aldwych and Strand are dominated by some
striking architecture (and some not so striking!) which all bear silent witness to a
particularly brutal scene at one point in Victoria. Linking the Aldwych area though to Charing Cross and Trafalgar Square is The Strand, seen here on an unusually busy Sunday afternoon. The traffic is even worse on a weekday! |
