The ancient roman city of Haychester that appears in both Hainault and Holborn is based very much on the small cathedral city of Chichester in West Sussex
Chichester is dominated in West Street by the impressive Cathedral. Much rebuilt and restored over the years (not least when the entire spire fell down in the eighteenth century) it is a major focal point in the city and looks particularly spectactlar when flood lit at night. It is also has a rare feature in that the bell tower (shown above right) is completely seperate from the main cathedral building. The base of the bell tower hosts the nice Cathedral Gift Shop by the way!
Directly opposite the Cathedral in West Street is the impressive Post Office building. The Post Office itself and indeed one of Stagecoach Southdown's Mercedes minibuses seen above both feature in Holborn.
Looking towards the centre, the medieval Market Cross can be seen. It sits on the middle intersection where the main shopping streets of North, South, East and West Street meet.
