Euston Square, or to be more precise the ticket hall level subway
and the busy thoroughfare of Euston Road immediately outside, also features at the
beginning of one of the most exciting scenes in Waterloo. |
 |
Ironically since Waterloo was
written and published, the appearance of the station entrance has changed dramatically
with recent redevelopment. The station also appears again, this time at platform
level, in the fourth novel in the series 'Moor Park'. |
 |
| The entrance on the south side is now set into the bottom of the
new hospital building and at time of writing was approaching final construction
completion. A subway links beneath Euston Road to the north side. Below the surface, nothing much has changed with the joint Metropolitan,
Hammersmith & City and Circle Lines platform still retaining its 1950's grey tiled
ambience. |
