Location Profile:
GREEN PARK

Green Park Two stops up from Waterloo on the Jubilee Line and you reach Green Park station.  This is the interchange station for the three busiest lines on the Underground System, the Jubilee, Piccadilly and Victoria Lines.

The characters in Waterloo pass through Green Park on a number of occasions and it also manages to crop up elsewhere in the series as well.

Green Park Side Entrance Green Park Station itself is situated in Piccadilly, immediately opposite the Ritz Hotel and the park itself, and just a couple of minutes walk away from Berkeley Square.

It is housed in the base of a very regal looking building that is typical of the area.

Green Park Station Building

Three lines serve Green Park Station.  The Piccadilly was first (when the station was called Dover Street) and the eastbound platform with original tunnel roof tile rings is shown above right.

Above left is the newest, the late 1970's plastics of the northbound Jubilee Line platform complete with leaf motif icon in the red tilework.

The other line serving the station is the 1960's built Victoria Line.

The main route of Piccadilly runs past Green Park station from Hyde Park Corner (in the distance in the view on the right) to Piccadilly Circus itself.

The reason for this shot is that one of the buildings you see here plays a significant part towards the end of Waterloo.
