Like many of the stations in the City of London itself, Monument
has virtually no surface buildings but many entrances, mostly sunken into the pavement and
surrounded by iron railings. Monument Station appears
primarily in Westminster mostly because it serves King William Street of which more anon.
Services here are provided by the Circle and District sub-surface
lines whilst a sub-terreanean walkway with escalators links Monument with Bank and
connections with the Central, Waterloo & City, City branch of the Northern and
Docklands Light Railway lines. |
