Training
We meet every Tuesday for training 7pm Freedom Leisure Centre,
Downsview Crescent, Uckfield. Typically training last about 1 hour and
may be a steady run, hills or repetitions. In the summer we train off
road, around Uckfield and surrounding area or sometimes drive up to Ashdown
Forest. Training is as hard as you want it to be whether you want to go
flat out or just have a social jog.
During the winter months we train in Uckield. We do a repetition season of parlouf on the 1 Tuesday in each month, Hills on the 3rd Tuesday and a stewady run on the 2nd and 4th Thuesday.
Races
For
those members who do wish to compete the two main events we participate
in as a club are the Sussex Grand Prix and the East Sussex Sunday Cross
Country league.
The Sussex Grand
Prix consists mainly of road races from 4 to 20 miles. You score
based on the best eight performances from about fifteen races. There
are both team and individual placings at the end of the year. For

The East Sussex
cross country league consist of six cross country races all of about
5 miles. We compete in a combined team with Heathfield Runners.
In 2002/03 we came third, 2003/04 2nd and we won the 2004/05 season,
we were 2nd in each year from 2005/06 to 2008/09 out of ten clubs. A team consists
of ten men and five ladies so we are always looking for members
who don’t mind a bit of mud. For 2009/10 events click here
Our event include
some week ends away. This year week ends were arranged
to the Barcelona Marathon and Isle of Wight Fell runs
in September. We have previously organised trips to Fort William Marathon in April, Paris Marathon
in April and Dieppe 10k in October.
Members compete in various other events off road and on road, from 5k
to full marathons including the Steyning Stinger, London, Paris, Rottingdean,
and Beachy Head Marathons. For a combined list of events click

Social
Its not all about running, with a summer BBQ in August and
Christmas dinner and disco in December.
