Race 1 4 Nov 07 Whitbread Hollow Eastbourne
An unseasonally warm sunny day greated the runners on the first race of the season in the very scenic location overlook the sea at Eastbourne. The pleasant weather brought out a large field including good turnout from both Utopia and our partner Heathfield ensured we had a full team. With strong entries from last years winners Hastings AC, followed by Eastbourne Rovers and Lewes AC with Heathfield/Utopia finishing fourth out of the nine teams. First home of the Utopia runners was Dave Chorlton finishing a very credible 23rd overall. Carol Chinn was the first of our ladies followed by Rachael Honigold being closely chased by Paula Peters. Rachael improved her time by 7 minutes over this course last year but best improvemetn must go to Dave Chorlton who in his first cross country at Pestolozzi in Febraury 2007 came 61st out of 107 to now finish 23rd out of 164. Also running for Utopia were Graham West, Rod Chinn, Will Blanford (good to see Will back after injury) and Fluer Blanford. Results

Sixth and last race at Pestolozzi near Battle. Dry for the
day but wet in the week leading to the race, about 50 metres
from the start entering a swamp, quick down hill before starting
the climb throught some nice and muddy woodland. Third place
was a good result and meant the team finshed in second place
overall. An excellant outcome. Thanks to all those who have
participated over the season. Mention must be made of two
of our younger members, Dave Chorlton and Peter West both
16 for which this was their first race for the club, both
made an a valuable contribution. Additionally Matthew West
competed in the Junior race and importantly with assisted
in compiling the results for the day, always important at
the last race to enable the presentations to be made for the
full seasons result soon after the race has finished. All
Results.
Fifth race Feb 07, Cross In Hand. Following a wet week and
