GARDENING |
|
The garden is almost entirely ornamental, with climbing roses and clematis scrambling up trellis fixed to the stone walls. The beds are planted mainly with perennials with just a few annual flowers placed to fill any gaps. A large number of pots are scattered throughout the garden containing three different palms, sweat-peas, dahlias and pelagoniums. I also have a small collection of agaves and semperviviums. A few hanging baskets and flower pouches filled with survinas and busy lizzies complete the summer display. In the autumn these are planted with winter flowering pansies and primulars. My only concession to vegetables are a couple of large pots of runner beans climbing up wigwams of bamboo canes (these are quite decorative themselves) and two hanging baskets of ‘tumbling tom’ tomatoes in the greenhouse. |
