In The Name Of God Amen

II ROBERT SWAN the Elder of Walden in the County of Essex. Yeoman being at this time in good health and of sound mind and memory (thanks be to God for the same) Do make and ordain this to be my last Will and Testament in manner following, that is to say First I give and devise All and everything ????? ???? Messuages Land Tenements and ??????????? with there appurtenances in Ashdon in the said County to my son ROBERT SWAN and his assigns for and during the term of his natural life, he keeping all the buildings of the premises from time to time in good and tenantable repair and permitting no waste upon pain of forfeiture thereof. And from and immediately after his decease or permitting the said buildings or any part thereof to run out of repair or permitting any manner of waste thereto (which shall first happen). I give and devise the said Messuages Land Tenements and Premises in ASDON aforesaid (Devised to my said son ROBERT for his life as aforesaid) unto my son JOHN SWAN and to his heirs and assigns forever as to my Copyhold Estate in ASHDON aforesaid. Will of ????? ??????? to my said son ROBERT as I shall take no further notice of it by this my Will. Also I Give and Bequeath to my daughter SARAH the wife of James Warren the sum of forty pounds of lawful money of Great Britain to be paid within twelve months next after my decease by my Executor herein after named. As to for and concerning All the Rest Residue and Remainder of My Ready Moneys Debts Stock in Farming Goods Chattels and other my Personal Estate of what nature or kind soever and wheresoever that I shall be possessed of or have any interest in at the time of decease (after my just debts the Expenses of my Funeral in a decent, the Legacy aforesaid and all other incident charges shall be fully paid and satisfied). I give and bequeath the same and every part thereof unto my said son JOHN SWAN whom I nominate and appoint sole Executor of this my will. And lastly I do hereby revoke all former wills by me heretofore made and do declare this to be and contain my last Will and Testament. In Witness thereof I ROBERT SWAN the Testator set my hand and seal this Twentieth day of January in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy.
