As in 2008 and 2009 the mean annual temperature is again below the 10°C norm for this part of the UK and seems to confirm a recent trend for warmer summers, with slightly cooler, stormier conditions in autumn, and colder winters.
December 2010 has been the coldest in the UK since official records began in 1910 (and also since 1890 unofficial records).
The observations should become progressively more interesting as trends emerge. Are we going to have wetter autumns and/or warmer temperatures?
