The early date for the last Spring frost can not be relied on - usually there is a May frost .
The Mean Annual Temperature in 2008 was the lowest since readings began here in 1998. Hitherto it has always been 10ºC +. The temperatures in February, April, June and December were all lower than usual with April, June and December markedly so.
The observations should become progressively more interesting as trends emerge. Are we going to have wetter autumns and/or warmer temperatures?
