WHO ARE SUSTRANS AND WHAT IS THE NATIONAL CYCLE NETWORK (NCN) ?
Sustrans (it stands for SUStainable TRANSport) is a charity that encourages people to travel in ways that benefit their health and the environment, such as walking and cycling.
The National Cycle Network, their flagship project, is a 10000+ mile fully signposted network of cycle / walking routes on traffic free paths and quiet country lanes. The web of routes are used by thousands of people daily, whether it’s a marathon cycle tour, the daily commute, or a quick trip ‘round the block’.

The network is still expanding and evolving, and groups of volunteer rangers like ours help to maintain and promote it locally.
