Warndon Rhinos U9 1 V 5 Kidderminster Lions U9
A lack of concentration straight from the kick-off provided a goal scoring chance for the Lions which they duly converted with some quick first touch passing. Rhinos put this behind them and defended well against a very good attacking and passing side, and were unlucky to end the first half two goals down. With the wind behind them in the second half the Rhinos battled hard to claw back the deficit. Great game awareness and defensive play from Alex Maund was not enough to shut the Lions out and more goals followed. Charlie Roberts was unlucky to break away for goal on a couple of occasions and Will Barnes went close to goal with a shot in the final minutes. Jonathan Burman restored some pride to the team netting the ball in the closing seconds of the match (that’s another £5 you owe him dad!).
