Nunnery
Scorpions 2 v 0 Warndon Rhinos
The Rhinos played Nunnery Scorpions at St
Mary’s Playing Fields for the first time this season. The Rhinos
started the game with only 6 players, but this didn’t distract them
and the whole team were determined to prevent a Scorpions goal. Finley
and George were heroic in defence and kept the Scorpions at bay for the
first 10 minutes of the match. Harvey, Jonathan and Daniel were chasing
everything on the pitch and never gave up. But with only 6 Rhinos on the
pitch, the Scorpions managed to score the opening goal
of the game. Minutes later Harry arrived and there were 7 Rhinos
on the playing field. The
Scorpions were ever dangerous throughout and a nice one-two move
resulted in the second goal.
In the second half the Rhinos
determination was clear to see, great tackling, important blocks and
improved defending meant the Rhinos kept a clean sheet in the second
half. An outstanding defensive performance from the whole team kept the
Scorpions out. Finley Stanley was sensational throughout the game, his
desire to win the ball was incredible with countless headers and
tackles. All the Rhinos played superbly, Sean made some good saves,
Harry never gave up and Daniel,
Jonathan,
George and Harvey were brave and committed.
Man of the Match: Finley Stanley
Superb performance, superb defending,
great awareness and excellent positional play.
Special Mention: THE TEAM
Harry, Sean, George, Jonathan, Daniel and
Harvey were brilliant and everyone deserved to win the MOTM Trophy.
