WVFC Tigers U11's returning to winning ways with an emphatic home victory with a thread bare seven man squad playing every minute of the match in defeating Westbury Celtic Youth U 11's 5 - 1. Parent's pick of Man of the Match was Lewis Kirkpatrick with his brace of goals and ever present forward threat....

1 - 0 Callum Daniels finished a move which saw Tiger pressure force two corners in quick succession on the right hand side, following a bout of head tennis in the area Callum forced the ball home.

2 - 0 Lewis Kirkpatrick ran on to an intelligent quick left side throw in from Jonny Harrison to exploit the space and finish well.

3 - 0 Lewis Kirkpatrick again used his pace to run on to a deep Richard Burman goal kick which bisected the Westbury cover.

3 - 1 Going in to the break Westbury scored their only goal from a header in from a direct corner poorly defended.

Half Time  3 - 1 To the Tigers

The Tigers then unfortunately missed a penalty which resulted from a handling infringement by a Westbury Defender, the team argued as to who should take the kick and then Mark Wilson blasted the ball which cannoned out off the crossbar. The Tigers should then have run away with the game but were foiled by the Westbury goalkeeper and either poor judgment in not passing or as in one instance getting in each others way and clearing goal bound shots off the line !

4 - 1 Jack Davies netted from an uncleared corner.

5 - 1 The best team movement resulting from first Jonny Harrison clearing off his own line, passing inter-play and Cameron Pinches scored from an acute angle.

The seven boys with Thomas Brown, Thomas Evans and Hayden  Lewis all missing all stuck well to their task to beat a Westbury side that were motivated and never gave up
