Development Centre information and News

The Development Centre will start in late July 2009 at Litte Perdiswell (opposite the park and ride) Worcester.

Warndon Villages Football club run a football development centre for children  starting from the age of 5. The Development Centre runs from 9.30am on a Saturday morning. Each session normally lasts a minimum of 1 hour. We do have access to the facilities at Perdiswell Leisure Centre and use the Astro Turf at the back of the Leisure Centre. Which means even when the weather is bad we still manage to give your kids the opportunity to play football. The session will normally include a physical warm up, passing, shooting and dribbling exercises and will include a game of football at the end to
educate how the children to play in a team environment
.

All our coaches are qualified to a minimum level 1 and have been C.R.B. checked to ensure your children will learn their football in a safe environment. All level 1 coaches will have been on a basic First Aid course. Also all personnel who have direct dealings with the children will have been on a Child Protection course.

Terry Smith  took over the Development Centre last season and with his eager team of coaches they  teach  the children all aspects of the game. Our aim is to develop the children's football skills and knowledge of the game so they are able to progress and play in teams. We try to promote sportsmanship and fair play but most important of all we want your child to ENJOY the game of football.

Teams are formed at the Under 8 age group but as per FA regulations this age group only allows friendly matches. The teams will start playing competitive football at the under 9 age group. We do organise friendly matches for the under 8 age group to give your child their first experience of playing football against other players.

We have an active Girls section at the club and next season will have 4 girls teams playing league football. All Leagues teams will play matches or train at the weekend and will have a team training session during the week. These sessions will be at either Perdiswell Leisure Centre or Nunnery Wood Sports centre.
