THE BIG PICTURE

Once again Watton Festival will feature ‘The Big Picture’, a project on the lines of the television show presented by Rolf Harris a few years ago.

Participants will be asked to paint part of a picture originally painted by a famous artist using their chosen medium.

This year our chosen artist is Hazel Ashley who lives in Wells-next-the-Sea and makes affectionate paintings of families enjoying the sights and sounds of Wells at all times of the year.

You will receive a sheet of card to paint on, a copy of the complete picture and a copy of the piece of the picture allocated to you. The colours used do not have to be exact, all we ask is that the edges and joins are as nearly as possible in the right place!

Adults and youngsters are invited to take part and any types of paint or medium, including collage, can be used.

If you are a member of an Art Group, enjoy painting at home, or have never lifted a paintbrush since your childhood but would like to try, then this project has been especially designed for YOU to get involved.

Why not have a go?

Completed entries must be returned for assembly by October 1st and the finished picture will be displayed in the Queens Hall for the duration of the Festival from October 22nd to 29th.

To register your interest please ring Judy on 01953 882613 or e mail johnkerr36@yahoo.com as soon as possible to enable the organisers to get all the information to you and give you plenty of time to complete your picture.

We look forward to hearing from you.
