Entertainment! That has always been the watchword of Cockney Pride, the finest Cockney band in the land, formed way back in the 1970’s when John Knowles took a residency at a London pub – ‘just to fill in time’. Forty years later the band is still going strong although there have been personnel changes over the years. Sue Sawyer fronts the band with John Knowles. Sue had a long and successful career as a solo artiste and she toured the world entertaining the troops in the 1980’s. She really was ‘The Forces Favourite’ with her strong voice and vibrant personality. The back line of the band is completed by Marius Rudnick an excellent pianist, singer and flautist working alongside a first class drummer. The repertoire ranges from ‘Knocked ‘em in the Old Kent Road’ to London show songs, via Ralph McTell’s ‘Streets of London’. The familiar Chas & Dave favourites are not forgotten. Everything is played and sung live, and the audience are invited to join in throughout. |
