The Waveplant was designed as a hybrid hard/software instrument with the audio oscillators being hardware based and most of the modulation sources and control elements generated by software. This means that a large number of the modulation sources which give the Waveplant its characteristic sound can be used without undue processor load. The instrument has quad outputs and the virtual oscillators modulate the sound around 4 speakers set up as a front/rear combination. Future versions of the CD may encode the modulation so that the effect can be recreated on user's 2 speaker systems.We are now including some of the sounds from the prototype AMS2 synthesiser on the CD
