W&DNL Website TechTalk: Adobe "pdf" Documents |
|||||||
A number of documents on the W&DNL site have been presented in the Adobe "Portable Document Format" [*.pdf]. This format allows you to see the original documents and, if you choose to do so, to print them with literally the same print quality as an original. To open these files you will need to have the Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your PC. If you do not have the reader, you can get it as a free download from Adobe. To help you get the software, we have set up a link to the Adobe UK site; please click on the picture below to get there. (The Adobe site will appear in a new window which will overlay this one. When you have finished the download, just close all the Adobe window(s) and you will be back here. The file size of the Adobe software is about 4.5Mb. With the Acrobat Reader installed, you may open a document while on line by clicking on the relevant link. If you would like to save the document, and open it later, just right click the link and select one of the following options [depending on your browser]:
If you want to open several documents while you are on line, we recommend closing the first document before opening a second. We have also tried to make the document names self explantory in case you decide to download all of them! |
| i Note: As a result of our using cheap software
to create the pdf files, the search function in Adobe Acrobat will not work on pdf documents from the W&DNL site :( If you need to find a particular reference, you will have to do this manually! |
