Design

The design for the project starts with the Community. That is why we held a two, three day long community events at the old village hall to get the thoughts of the community on their needs, their views and what they generally would like to be delivered. The feedback was used to develop the designs for the new building.

We held a design competition at Madeley High School to design the logo for the project. This can be seen above with a secondary logo below.

The pupils at the school put a lot of time and effort into their designs and the two chosen clearly expressed and demonstrated the community cohesion and environmental aspects of the project. The two winning designs were produced by Will Roberts (aged 14) and Jess Barnish (aged 14).

 

The project provides an innovative voluntary/community sector led approach to rural regeneration. It draws on a whole range of skills from within the community. It's focus is on creating an intergenerational integrated and sustainable community. The design of the new building fully supports this philosophy and will provide the infrastructure to take forward services, activities and social interactions for generations to come.
