Friday 1 October left Manchester on AA95 to Boston, UA088 Boston to Washington DC. Arrived safely but whichout luggage which arrived on next flight. Saturday 2 October First stop - shopping mall to re-stock Levis. Diner for breakfast and then major purchase - Nikon D70. The first attempts are the pics on this page. Sunday 3 October Our friends took us to a Renaissance Fair which consists of mainly Americans dressing up in medieval costume (medieval to some US folk covers any era from 11th to 18th Century !) However, some very interesting outfits; ladies in bodices, men in tights and goths. So much food too. Obviously every type of sustenance in those days came "on a stick". Monday 4 October Our last day/evening in Washington. First thing we did today was have breakfast with Bill. A very interesting man - 80 years old and ex FAA. Over-easy eggs and ham for me. On to the White House and Smithsonian Museum of American History. Dinner at The Cheesecake Factory and an early night. Tomorrow we leave for Barbados, via Boston & Miami. |
