Biography

Barbara has enjoyed an evolving career in textiles. She started teaching in London schools in 1971 and since 1990 she has focused on the City & Guilds Design and Craft courses, both as a teacher and external verifier. She has taught the course at several centres in England and also in France.

Barbara is an active member of the Quilters' Guild and currently serves on the Judges Organising Committee. She is a member of the Textile Group of the Herts Visual Arts Forum, taking part in the annual Open Studios event, usually in September. Locally Barbara is a member of the Mead Quilters in Wheathampstead, Hertfordshire.

Barbara's work has been exhibited in the UK and abroad, and has been featured in numerous publications. She has completed commissioned textile wall hangings for Hammersmith Hospital NHS Trust, the Quilters' Guild '25 for 25' collection and JD Wetherspoons, St Albans, with numerous others in private collections.
