The Fall Guy

Author, John Dowse

Product Synopsis

This is a story of lasting love and especially of honour.  Greg, so very much in love with Jennie, is offered in his final year in university, an opportunity to represent his country at international rugby. He has an outstanding game and after the match, he is feted and becomes very drunk and is put to bed by his team mates and a blonde, Tracy, who just tags along.  In the morning, she commends him on his stud performance about which he remembers nothing.

After finals, Jennie and he are about to announce their engagement, when Tracy reappears and tells him she is pregnant and that he is the father of her child.  Greg has always been brought up to accept his responsibilities and though he can remember nothing of that night, he leaves everyone and everything and disappears with Tracy to Perth in Australia.

Ten years later, Jennie, who has become an international expert in her field, is invited to Perth university to lecture there.  When she meets Greg again, she realizes she has always loved him even though he let her down all those years ago.  He tells her that Jamie, 'his son' is not really his child and that he was the Fall Guy.  Tracy tries to spoil their future yet again when she arranges Jamie's abduction. An exciting trek through the desert and Jamie's courage overcomes a potentially serious tragedy.

When reunited, they decide to go back to England; will they return to Australia?  Who knows.
