Oil platform under tow from Nigg into Moray Firth en-route to North Sea oil fields east of Aberdeen.  The port of Invergordon nestles on the shore of the calm waters of the Cromarty Firth, one of the finest natural harbours in Britain. With no tidal or navigational restrictions and 36ft (11 metres) of water at the quayside it is no surprise that In vergordon has welcomed some of the world’s largest and most luxurious cruise ships including Queen Elizabeth 2, S.S. Norway and Enchantment of the Seas. In fact Invergordon can accommodate two large liners of up to 1036ft (316 metres) and 36ft (11 metres) draught simultaneously.
