Father we praise you, we praise you and give thanks for you. For you created the heavens and the earth, you created all that dwells on the earth, you created us in your image. You created us and you love us Father, you love us even though we fail you, we fail you and sin against you and yet you forgive us.
Even more than forgive us you save us. You saw that we turned our backs on you yet again and deserved punishment; instead you sent us your beloved son - He who was without sin and yet took the sin of the world on His shoulders, He who died for us that we might live. He who is our risen Lord, Christ Jesus through whom death lost it's dominion over us. For through Jesus we are saved for eternity and our place in heaven is assured, paid for by His blood, the blood that should have been our blood, but you loved us so much that you did this for us.
Father you are so generous so mighty, we are so mean and so small and yet you care for us: for that we praise your name.
How can we possibly repay you for all that you do for us? You answer our prayers, you watch over us and protect us from the evil one, you love us and nurture us as we walk this path alongside you. We who are not worthy to even speak your name are cherished as a parent would their newborn child. And through Christ Jesus we are born again, we receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. You help us to walk in faith. You know how difficult it is sometimes to do this, when the cares of the world are pressing down on us, when we feel so far away from you. At these times you are especially loving towards us, you love us and heal us and you make us whole again.
Father God let your name be on our lips always, may we never cease to praise you. May you be in our thoughts from the first thing in the morning to the last thing at night.
And Father God when that glorious day comes, the day that we can worship you in heaven, may we finally be able to give you our personal thanks for a life well led as it has been led through you.
