Westhill Pet Services was started by Diane Pearson.  She lives in Westhill, Aberdeenshire is married to John and has 2 children, Lewis and Charlotte.  She has been an animal lover all her life having had various small pets as a child.  Diane is especially interested in the breeding and welfare of animals and hopes to help educate the public on how to look after their pets properly.  She has bred and shown pedigree rabbits and cats and now has a small stud of rare variety 'Teddy' guinea pigs.  While breeding rabbits she was asked many times about holiday boarding them so set up a small animal boarding facility in her home.  Her new business venture [Pat-a-Pet] is to take her collection of pets round schools, nurseries, playgroups etc. for fun and educational handling sessions. 

Recently Sarah Gomez also of Westhill Pet Boarding has taken over part of the small animal boarding business and will be taking in the rabbits, rats, chinchillas, birds and other large caged animals while Diane will still take in the guinea pigs, hamsters and other small caged animals.  Sarah has lots of experience with pets and has her own indoor rabbits, rats and birds.

Rabbit & guinea pig breeding & showing - Diane used to breed pedigree Mini Lop, Lionhead & Mini Rex rabbits and also rare variety 'Teddy' guinea pigs (see photos in Photo Gallery).  She exhibited some of her Mini Lop rabbits at Forfar & Keith rabbit shows but never really got into the whole show scene.  She now uses her experience with breeding & showing to advise others.  For more information on rabbits or guinea pigs as pets please click on the links opposite.

Cat Breeding - Diane also used to breed Ragdoll Cats but had to give this up as she no longer had the time to dedicate to them after her own children were born.  Ragdolls are semi-longhaired cats and need lots of human attention being more like dogs than cats.  They also have to be kept indoors as they don't tend to have much road sense.  After the last litter went to new homes she decided to also find new homes for the adults.  Two of the females went to a breeder in the South of England and the others went to loving pet homes.  Offspring of her Ragdolls are still being show today.
