Moby.

Roles: Co-director, Actor

The award-winning "Moby" is the second creative effort from Chris Joyce, Chris Marsh & Steven Mitchell.
Dialogue was pretty much ad-libbed as it was filmed, and Steven's enthusiastic
direction kept it all moving. Two sequences, now referred to as 'the chase', and
'night intruder' took many takes during filming, but all came together very well,
incorporating the best in all the takes. Chris Joyce pulls off a particularly convincing
downward spiral into losing his mind, after being harassed by a mad Moby fan
convinced that Joyce is Moby, eventually slipping into the assumption that he truly is Moby.
Chris Marsh's efforts as the mad fan are decidedly disturbing, with the scariest
jumper in existence as the finishing touch. In the summer of 2001, Total Film
magazine did a short article on the film. You can click here to see it.

"Moby" was screened at the Metro Cinema short film competiton in Derby on 4th April 2004 as part of the audience vote shortlisting. It went on to be awarded Best Comedy at the finals in April 2004.
