Random Tangent

Roles: Co-director, Actor

Random Tangent was a film created in 1999. It was a collaborative effort between me and two other students at my college, Chris Lightwing and Matthew Hearn. The idea came from being very stuck for ideas for a film project, which somehow got us up the multi-storey car park in Canterbury. Soon we were getting ideas. The film was to be about someone running around with a gun, and the film would appear to be like a video game. I played the main part; not the most taxing role in the world. When the film was completed, we were very, very pleased with what we had managed to achieve. It was hugely popular among the other students and became something of a cult classic. That said, the tutors hated it, and claimed it did not fit the brief we had been given at all, so we got sent away to do some more work. Although this was annoying, it does not in my mind take away any of the greatness of Random Tangent. It is a film worthy to be proud of.
