TEN was a pretty dark album. It was the first attempt at 4-track recording, and was a lot of fun to record. The content of the songs was mostly pretty bleak, being confused etc, and provides a huge contrast when put next to it's follow up, Pale Marble Movie.
A few songs have a live feel to them, as they were spontaneously recorded with Chris Joyce adding his guitar stylings and fleshing out the textures.
Ten was given its title for three reasons; inspiration from Teenage Fanclub's 'Thirteen', the fact that it was my tenth recording, and because it contained ten tracks (just as 'Thirteen' had thirteen tracks).
