My first camera was a Kodak Brownie (like the picture on the left), it used 120 roll film. The year was 1955, I was 16 years of age. I progressed to an Ilford Sportsman 35mm camera ( image above) followed by my first single lens reflex camera a Russian Zenith C SLR 35mm camera (centre left). I have updated through various other SLR cameras including a Minolta 7xi & Dynax 7 (camera of the year 2002, I believe). Of course in my first camera (Kodak Brownie) I only used black & white film as it was the only readily available media. I have progressed through developing & printing in my own darkroom both mono & colour negative films and now digital. Even now I still get a great feeling of satisfaction by producing pictures in black & white. In the course of pursuing this hobby I have gained ‘City and Guilds’ certificates in Portrait & Architectural Photography.
I enjoy photographing flowers, animals and insects, below are a few of my favourite’s.
