Thames CG requested the
lifeboat to launch to assist an 8' angling dinghy with engine failure off
Hampton Pier.
The lifeboat found the
dinghy 150 yds off Hampton Rocks, being rowed slowly towards the shore.
The single, elderly occupant was brought aboard the lifeboat, and the
dinghy towed to the launching ramp at Hampton.
Once the man and his dinghy
were safely ashore in the care of Herne Bay Mobile Coastguard unit, the
lifeboat returned to station.
