At 1309, whilst out on a routine training exercise,
Whitstable Lifeboat was requested to proceed to a 32' motor cruiser That's
Amore, broken down and taking water two miles north of Swalecliffe.
Sheerness Lifeboat was also requested to launch.
Whitstable Lifeboat arrived to find that that
although there was about a foot of water in the boat, no more was coming
in. The crew therefore assisted the occupants to reduce the level of water
whilst awaiting the arrival of Sheerness Lifeboat.
At 1353 Sheerness Lifeboat arrived to take the craft
under tow to Queenborough.
After having transferred two crew members and a
salvage pump from Sheerness Lifeboat to the casualty vessel, Whitstable
Lifeboat returned to station.
