Welcome to Whixall
Whixall is a village lying in the North
Shropshire countryside between the two market towns of Wem and Whitchurch and
is ideally situated for fast access to Chester, Wrexham, Shrewsbury, Stoke and
Manchester. We are also reached by the Shropshire Union canal which passes
through the village.
Where are we?
Whixall has a small population despite being spread across one of the largest
parishes in England.
Whixall also includes a large part of the
948 hectare Fenn's, Whixall, Bettisfield, Wem and Cadney Mosses which is an SSSI (Site of
Special Scientific Interest). This is the third largest raised bog in Britain
and a wetland of international significance. For more information click on the
