Welcome to Whixall

Whixall is a village lying in the North Shropshire countryside between the two market towns of Wem and Whitchurch and is ideally situated for fast access to Chester, Wrexham, Shrewsbury, Stoke and Manchester. We are also reached by the Shropshire Union canal which passes through the village. Where are we?

Whixall has a small population despite being spread across one of the largest parishes in England.

Whixall also includes a large part of  the 948 hectare Fenn's, Whixall, Bettisfield, Wem and Cadney Mosses which is an SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest). This is the third largest raised bog in Britain and a wetland of international significance. For more information click on the Whixall Moss box above.

If you would like regular updates to the village activities including the adjacent villages of Tilstock and Edstaston you may like to subscribe to the monthly community news which costs 30p.
