North Salop Wheelers.

Having successfully operated  our Ring and Ride service between Wem, Whixall & Whitchurch for the past 12 months we are pleased to announce the arrival of our own bus. We are also pleased to announce the very first community transport project for groups, non profit making clubs and individuals in Whixall.

The North Salop Wheelers Community Car is bookable for Doctor appointments and clinics, occasional shopping trips, links with other rail or bus services etc.

We also urgently need volunteers to train to be drivers and helpers. All costs involved in training will be paid. For further information please call the above number.

Transport.
During the Summer there is a  Shuttlebus (Service 280) which runs from Ellesmere to Wollerton, on weekends and bank holidays, visiting local places of interest including Whixall Moss. Also there are three other bus services which service Whixall. Routes 226, 227 and 345.

226 runs on Fridays between Whitchurch and Ellesmere via Welshampton calling in Whixall at Dobsons Bridge, Bostock Hall, Social Centre, Stanley Green, Hollinwood and Welsh End.

227 runs on Friday, Saturday and Sunday between Wem and Whitchurch calling in Whixall at the Social Centre, Stanley Green and Welsh End.

Newspapers.
The daily Shropshire Star and weekly North Shropshire Chronicle and Whitchurch Herald are delivered to most areas of Whixall. Anybody wishing to take advantage of this service should call 01952-241535 between 6 and 7.30 pm Monday to Friday

Doorstep Milk Delivery.
Doorstop milk delivery is available from the Express Dairy in Whitchurch. A variety of other produce is also available. For further information call 01978-265846

Hall Hire
Whixall Social Centre is a former primary school building and consists of a large hall with a stage , kitchen and a storeroom containing tables and chairs for the hirer's use. There is a access ramp for disabled visitors, the usual toilet facilities including an accessible toilet for the disabled and elderly, plus a baby changing unit.
There is a smaller meeting room and bar area. The hall is available for hire by individuals , groups or evening /day classes and may be hired by contacting the bookings Secretary Mrs Beryl Trow on 01948 880385

Neighbourhood Watch.
Whixall has a very active Neighbourhood Watch with coordinators for various areas of the village. For further information contact Iain McHardy on 01948-880427

Whixall Pre - School Nursey
Monday to Friday from 0090 to 1515 hours during school term time. Sessions available:
mornings 0900 to 1200, lunch club from 1200 to 1245, afternoon 1245 to 1515. Full day care from 0900 to 1515. We are a partner of the Local Education Authorities' Early Years Development Plan. Whixall Parent and Toddler Group
Every Thursday morning from 1015 to 1200 at Whixall Social Centre. All tots under 5 with mum, dad, grandparent or carer welcome. First week free so come along and have a cup of tea and see what it is like.

Whixall CE Primary School Tennis Membership
Whixall Primary School tennis courts are open for community use. Membership is: Family Membership £45 per year to include court key or individual membership £40 per year to include a court key. Please telephone the school if you would like to book the courts or need further information. 01948 880330
