TEN COMMANDMENTS FOR MANAGERIAL SUCCESS
- REMEMBER the manager is also a part of
the team. Don't distance yourself from your team
- GET the team to believe in itself and in
the objectives You are after. Hold regular 'booster' meetings.
- GET the team to all pull the same way.
Co-ordinate your aims
- OBSERVE and listen to individuals. Don't
talk to talk too much and if necessary talk to team members privately.
- IF you hit a bad patch identify the
problems as soon as possible and take action to overcome them and
re-instill enthusiasm
- DON'T jump to conclusions. Bite on bullet
until you are aware of all the facts
- THE team expects strong leadership and
authority. Make sure they get it from YOU-
- LAUGHTER breaks down barriers. Laugh with
your team.
- You must command the loyalty of your
team. Be loyal to them.
- Your don't gain respect by signing your
contract of employment. Respect must be earned
