Notices for All Saints Church, Caddington.
Flower Festival
A very big thank you all who worked so hard last weekend to stage the Flower Festival and to all those who supported it. A total of £956.35 was raised which is a tremendous achievement.
The Villager
All articles for the November Villager should be with the editor by Tuesday 14th October please.
Favourite Bible Passage
What is your
favourite Bible passage? What is your favourite prayer? We are
hoping to compile an All Saints Prayer Book and it would be good
if you could put your contribution with your name, Bible
references, and authors of prayers included in the folder at the
back of church. !
There are about a dozen prayers, readings and favourite hymns -
PLEASE add yours to the folder, so that we can share the verses
that inspire and encourage us.
Apples
There are still plenty of cooking apples on the tree in the Vicarage Garden. Ruth cannot eat them all herself, please come into the garden and help yourself.
New Piano
We have recently been able to invest in a new, small digital piano which has many additional features and will be able to complement the organ as a further musical resource to the church. However we now have the grand piano which is not in the best condition but is free to anyone who is able to take it away. Please contact Ruth or Joe.
Petition
Stephen
Purvis (Area Dean) has asked me to pass this on to all churches:
As you may be aware, the Water Companies are ignoring churches
charitable status and starting to charge Churches for the amount
of area (i.e. roofs and car parks) that will collect rainwater
and discharge it into the sewer network. This will effectively
raise most churches water bills by hundreds if not thousands of
pounds. There is an online government petition (objecting to this)
that you can register on, please register and pass this email
onto anyone else you think will sign it. the petition needs at
least 15,000 to be noticed and at present stands at 2666 !!!! You
can access this petition at http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/ChurchWaterBills ".
Giving
Please help us to make more of the money you give. If you give regularly please consider using the blue envelopes, (available from Peter Graham 738470). One is provided for each Sunday of the year. If you complete a gift aid form we can claim back the tax on your giving.
If you only give occasionally-please use the white envelopes provided in the pews which will enable us to claim back the tax on that individual gift. If you pay tax please Gift Aid your money.
Speak to Ruth (731692) or to Peter Graham (738470), or see below.
Tea & Coffee Rota
Is there anyone who would be able to help with serving coffee at the end of the 10.00am service? Please speak to Jenny (738401) if you can help.

Points to Note

To help emergency services it has been suggested that you should enter the acronym ICE (In case of emergency) in your mobile phone address book, with the number and name of a contact. See the East Anglian Ambulance website: http://www.eastanglianambulance.com/content/news/newsdetail.asp?newsID=646104183 . Contrary to some hoaxes, there are no risks involved.
